Could not update .ICEauthority file on Debian Linux

Right before the login screen, I saw an error message:

Could not update .ICEauthority file
/var/lib/gdm3/.ICEauthority

This error message was related to gdm3.

I removed gdm3 and installed it again to get rid of the error message.



The commands I issued were:

aptitude remove gdm3
aptitude remove gnome-session
shutdown -r now
aptitude install gdm3
aptitude install gnome-session
aptitude install gnome-core
shutdown -h now



I started the computer after 30 seconds. The error was gone.
