An advantage of using mind maps to learn English over using paragraphs

An advantage of using mind maps to learn English over using paragraphs

Basic differences:
A mind map is like a picture with the main (most important) idea put at the center.
A paragraph is a block of texts with the main idea sometimes signaled by a topic sentence.

An advantage of using mind maps to learn English over using paragraphs is the clarity brought by visualizing the importance of ideas. Visualizing literally means "making visual" or putting texts or other things (not pictures) into pictures.

Example 例子:

Compare the following paragraph with the mind map. Which is clearer if you take a look at each of them for the first time?

Writing a good story is as challenging as drawing a good picture. A good story consists of many elements, including good description of characters and good narrative strategies.
