Merge documents on Debian Linux

I used LibreOffice (version 3.5.2) to merge two documents. One was the text document called original.odt. The other was the text document called edition1.odt. I would like original.odt to adopt the corrections in edition1.odt.

This was original.odt.

I clicked on Edit and then Compare Document...

I clicked on edition1.odt.

I clicked on Reject All.

I closed the dialog box.

I completed using the corrections in edition1.odt to make them appear in original.odt.
