Mind map for organization

Mind map for higher speed 用腦圖求速度

Things have to be fast at the workplace. Decisions have to be made very quickly under pressure. Be aware of the problems and consequences as soon as you can.

在工作場所,萬事求快。即使備受壓力,下決定也要快。竭盡所能,很快地意識到前因後果。

Learning a kind of language is similar to things happening at the workplace. Many unknown words may cause frustration. You look frustrated and tired of learning any more. Drawing mind maps can help to reduce your frustration. According to Tony Buzan, a picture is better than a thousand words. Therefore, drawing mind maps will raise learning effectiveness. If you learn more quickly, do you feel better?

學習語言的要求也類同。遇上大量不明瞭的文字,會有力不從心的時候,畫腦圖有助減少困擾的時刻。根據 Tony Buzan 的意思,因為一圖勝千言萬語,所以畫腦圖會提升學習果效。如果你學習得更快,你會覺得更好嗎?

Karen Sullivan used mind maps to learn Italian 用腦圖學意大利語

Karen Sullivan learned French at university.
Karen Sullivan 在大學學習法語。

She mentioned that she started learning Italian with mind maps.
她提到她開始用腦圖 (mind map) 來學意大利語。

Sullivan wrote that she learned Italian vocabulary items with mind maps.
Sullivan 寫道,她用腦圖學習意大利語的生字。

She could associate vocabulary items with images as babies could. Imagine you were just a baby.
如同嬰兒般,她可以聯繫生字和圖像。想像你就是嬰兒。

She suggested a useful way of learning the language. She put mind maps on the walls. Then she could refer to them when she wanted to.
她提議學習該語言的有用方法。她把腦圖掛在牆上。之後,她甚麼時候想看,都得心應手

The useful tips have been colored in orange above.
上述的有用提示都塗上橙色。

If you want to learn English well, you could follow the same methods. Leaning a new kind of language could be painful as in Sullivan's case of learning French (at university), as she described. Try different methods. One of the methods may suit your learning style.

An advantage of using mind maps to learn English over using paragraphs

An advantage of using mind maps to learn English over using paragraphs
用腦圖勝於用段落,怎樣好?

Basic differences:
A mind map is like a picture with the main (most important) idea put at the center.
A paragraph is a block of texts with the main idea sometimes signaled by a topic sentence.

基本不同:
腦圖好像圖畫,最重要的意念放在中央
段落由"一塊兒"的文字組成,最重要的意念有時由旨句帶出。

An advantage of using mind maps to learn English over using paragraphs is the clarity brought by visualizing the importance of ideas. Visualizing literally means "making visual" or putting texts or other things (not pictures) into pictures.

用腦圖勝於用段落,怎樣好?在於清晰。意念各有輕重先後,腦圖把這個有多重要的層次視像化出來。視像化字面上是化為視像的意思,或者由文字/其它不是圖像的材料轉化為圖像。

Example 例子:

Compare the following paragraph with the mind map. Which is clearer if you take a look at each of them for the first time? 比較下面的段落和腦圖。倘若你第一次看以下的一段或一幅,這段文字還是這幅腦圖更為清晰?

Writing a good story is as challenging as drawing a good picture. A good story consists of many elements, including good description of characters and good narrative strategies.
